What is Works for Glucose Wellness?

Works for Glucose Wellness is a precision-probiotic capsule built around three Lactobacillus strains, each Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS). Rather than assembling whatever strains happen to be on hand, these three were identified through our proprietary AI selection: in silico prediction narrowed 1,000+ candidates, then in vitro glucose-consumption screening chose the final three. The formulation is licensed from Arizona State University and is patent pending. It is a dietary supplement, taken daily.

Which strains are in it?

Three GRAS-designated Lactobacillus strains: Lactobacillus rhamnosus ATCC 7469, Lactobacillus reuteri ATCC 23272, and Lactobacillus salivarius ATCC 11741. Each species is named on the label, at a defined dose, so what is printed on the bottle is what is in the capsule.

How many CFU does each serving contain?

Each serving of two capsules provides 10 billion colony-forming units (CFU) at the time of manufacture. CFU is the standard measure of how many live, active cultures a probiotic delivers, counted at the time the product is made.

Is this clinically proven?

No. The formulation is backed by published, peer-reviewed research (Chi et al., Metabolites, 2025), but that research is preclinical, meaning it was done in an animal model rather than in people. It establishes how the strains were selected and shows an early biological signal, not proof of a human benefit. A human clinical study has been approved by our Institutional Review Board and is expected to begin this fall. We will report human results when we have them, and not before.

How do I take it?

Take two (2) capsules daily with water, with or without food, or as directed by your healthcare provider.

How should I store it?

Store in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration is recommended but not required.

What is the capsule made of? Any allergens?

The capsule is vegan (made from HPMC, also called hypromellose), and so is the product.

How does the subscription work?

Works ships monthly on a subscription for $50 per month. Your order arrives automatically each month, and you can manage or cancel anytime from your account. There is no long-term commitment.

Can I buy a single bottle without subscribing?

Not at launch. Works is available as a monthly subscription only for now. We may add one-time purchase options later.

How is it shipped, and how fast?

Orders ship from our U.S. fulfillment partner. You will receive a tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves the warehouse.

What's your return policy?

Unopened, unexpired bottles can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund or replacement. Because this is a consumable probiotic, we cannot accept returns of opened bottles. For full details, see our Shipping & Returns page.

Who makes Works?

Works is made by MetaBiotics LLC, doing business as Works Probiotics. The formulation is licensed from Arizona State University and is manufactured in the United States at a facility operating under FDA current Good Manufacturing Practice for dietary supplements (21 CFR Part 111).
